2009. Year of protection of children on the Internet
The main goal of marking protection on the Internet in Europe is the education of children, their parents and teachers in order to prevent the abuse of children in the virtual environment. Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society with the support of Microsoft, this conference seeks to draw attention to the entire public on a problem of non safe and inappropriate content that children and young people exposed to the Internet. Announced in 2009. The protection of children on the Internet, the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society brings European trends in Serbia and one of the priorities of the Ministry sets exposed problems of the information society - children and young people.
"This day is an opportunity to initiate the issue of protection of children on the Internet and the opportunity to show a willingness to take responsibility that we have towards the youngest generations. We set campaign, in which we gather the most representatives of the state, international organizations, civil society and the private sector to be confronted with this problem, "said Minister Jasna Matić.
"Sometimes the parents talk to children to take care of ,,mister,, in the park that is behaving strangely or provides them with candy, but do not know what advice to give children who come in daily communication with the unknown people in chat rooms. We do not want this campaign to frighten our citizens, but the contrary, to encourage more to use all kinds of new technologies, but to talk to their children about how to spend time on the Internet.
